CT MADISON — Madison's Affordable Housing Committee reported that its Trust Fund ordinance will be reviewed by the Board of Selectmen on July 20, with a potential public hearing August 24 if approved, according to Liaison Erin Mannix. The committee also discussed Connecticut General Statutes Section 8002, comprehensive housing legislation adopted last fall to encourage substantially more housing opportunities statewide. Implementation details continue to be developed through 2029 or 2030, with state-established Councils of Governments serving as intermediaries for municipalities adopting new local rules.
The committee indicated it will consider reorganizing to address the anticipated regulatory changes.
