Board of Finance · Meeting of May 20, 2026
CT MADISON — Madison Board of Finance voted to approve line transfers and appropriations totaling $1.3 million. The Board voted unanimously on May 20 to approve routine line item transfers of $122,000 and $514,960.13, with Finance Director Stacy Nobitz noting that year-end transfers address deficits, particularly in police overtime accounts offset by savings from unfilled positions. The Board also unanimously approved special appropriations of $100,000 for Major Roads (pending Town Meeting approval), $125,000 for coastal resiliency, $220,000 for winter storm expenses, $75,000 for Meals-on-Wheels, and $135,000 for police overtime (pending Selectmen approval on May 26).
Board Chair John Picard stated intent to secure an additional $25,000 for Meals-on-Wheels to reach the full $100,000 appropriation discussed during budget preparation.
