CT MADISON — Board of Finance set the 2026-27 mill rate at 23.06, a 2.81 percent increase, and unanimously approved related budget measures. Chair John Picard's Board voted to commit $2,261,940 in state revenue, use a 99 percent tax collection rate, and draw $400,000 from prior-year fund balance to offset the tax increase. The Board also unanimously accepted a 7.5-acre tidal wetlands donation with public access easement from D & M Flo Ventures, LLC, and approved a $5,000 Connecticut Department of Transportation grant for the Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee.
Finance Director Stacy Nobitz reported the town is ahead in tax collections and projected $1.3 million above budget revenues, while flagging potential over-expenditures in Storm and Legal accounts for special appropriation consideration at the next meeting.
