CT MADISON — Madison's Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee agreed to pursue a new microgrant for helmets and safety equipment, with member Jes Joseff leading the application, as the town earned recognition at a state Vision Zero ceremony on September 23. The committee will participate in the Bauer Park Harvest Festival on October 17 with bike raffles and giveaways. Rob Russo provided updates on four ongoing infrastructure projects; the Green Hill Road public meeting is September 14, requiring coordination with the Tree Advisory Committee regarding tree removals.

The town's cycling initiatives included the Bike Bash event (nearly 300 attendees), walk-to-school programs, and a school riding club. Two committee members stepped down; three or four applicants have expressed interest in the two open seats.
