Advisory Committee on Community Appearance (ACCA) · Meeting of June 9, 2026

CT MADISON — The Advisory Committee on Community Appearance approved two development applications at its Tuesday meeting. The committee voted unanimously to approve Alpha Dog pet services at 391 Durham Road, allowing domestic-pet training, grooming, day care, and socialization meetups operating on the backside of the property with no street-visible frontage, and voted unanimously for landscaping improvements at Lee's Academy that will transform a 20-by-20-foot grassy area into a sitting space with stone, plantings, and a bench. The committee tabled a proposed four-unit apartment building at 397 Durham Road pending design revisions to address siding, roof overhang, and base material concerns.

The committee reviewed the draft Middle Housing Regulation ahead of a Planning and Zoning Commission public hearing June 18, recommending changes to parking, landscape, and design standards.
