Committee Recommends $153K Visualization System for Operations Center

Madison's Emergency Operations Committee endorsed a $153,000 ActiVu visualization system for the firehouse expansion.

Emergency Operations Center - Firehouse Expansion Building Committee · Meeting of April 9, 2026

CT MADISON — Madison's Emergency Operations Committee endorsed a $153,000 ActiVu visualization system for the firehouse expansion. The Ad Hoc Emergency Operations Center and Fire House Expansion Building Committee voted unanimously to recommend the Board of Selectmen approve the proposal, reduced from an original $400,000 estimate. The system uses ActiVu's software platform and large commercial screens.

Overages above the $150,000 project FFE budget will be covered through contingency reserves and pre-construction savings. If approved at the Selectmen's next meeting, installation can begin in July. The committee reported substantial construction progress on the concurrent firehouse expansion project, with exterior steel complete, the second-floor concrete poured, stairs in service, and interior framing complete.
