Conservation Commission expands community education focus

CT MADISON — Madison Conservation Commission commits to expanding community education as a core mission. Members assigned topics for environmental fact sheets: Terry Vandendolder on rodenticide alternatives, Richard Talentino on lawn care, Jane Constable on light pollution, Amy Thomas on composting, and Lauriane on wildlife corridors. Heather Crawford and Amy Thomas developed a revised philosophy statement, guided by Selectman Al Goldberg's note that 80 percent of Madison residents cite natural beauty as their reason for living here.
The statement will be presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission in July.
