CT MADISON — Madison Conservation Commission shifted its approach toward community environmental education of residents. During its June 24 meeting, Selectman Al Goldberg urged the Commission to position itself as a community educator, noting that 80 percent of new Madison residents cite the town's natural beauty as their reason for moving. Amy Thomas agreed to revise the Commission's philosophy statement to emphasize its educational role, with the revised draft due for review at the July 9 meeting.
Members also committed to creating one-sheet fact sheets on environmental topics including rodenticides, lawn care, light pollution, and composting.
