Emergency Operations Center - Firehouse Expansion Building Committee · Meeting of May 14, 2026

CT MADISON — The Ad Hoc Emergency Operations Center and Fire House Expansion Building Committee reviewed the project's progress, with plumbing nearing completion and $153,000 of the $182,000 contingency fund remaining. Sam DeBurra, Director of Emergency Services, led the meeting, with members Robert Blundon, Greg Carroll and Jim Kottage present, along with First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons and Ben Whittaker, Director of Construction and Planning. Staff identified a possible fiber conduit reroute that could impact the contingency by $6,000, and added a storage room requiring a sprinkler system.

The grant extension now runs through October, and furniture quotes are in process. A Board of Selectmen site tour is scheduled for May 18, with ribbon cutting targeted for late August or early September.
