Board of Finance · Meeting of July 15, 2026
CT MADISON — Board of Finance established a new reserve fund for election costs. The five-member Board voted 4-0 with one abstention to adopt the regulation creating the Town Clerk and Registrar of Voters Reserve Fund, addressing budget volatility from election cycles and state-mandated voting changes including early voting and no-excuse absentee voting. Finance Director Stacy Nobitz said a five-year analysis showed average annual overages of $20,000.
An initial appropriation of $19,950 was approved on the same vote. The Board also unanimously approved a $13,293 LEAD Early Voting Grant, a $23,500 donation from Neighbor-to-Neighbor to Madison Youth and Family Services, and routine line item transfers totaling $150,225.
