The Madison Planning and Zoning Commission held a special listening session on comprehensive zoning regulation updates.
Planning & Zoning Commission · Meeting of October 1, 2026
CT MADISON — The Madison Planning and Zoning Commission held a special listening session on comprehensive zoning regulation updates. Chair Carol Snow and consultant Michael D'Amato outlined objectives to consolidate fragmented regulations into a single digital code aligned with Connecticut General Statutes and the Plan of Conservation and Development. The Commission has adopted form-based Middle Housing regulations to comply with a new state requirement allowing 2 to 9 residential units as of right on commercial or mixed-use properties.
New state Housing Growth Plans will assign Madison a housing unit target. Residents raised concerns about stormwater, density, environmental protection and natural resources, and staff invited continued public participation through zoningregs@madisonct.org.
