Board of Selectmen · Meeting of May 12, 2026
CT MADISON — Madison Selectmen approved $1.345 million in special appropriations for roads, coastal resilience, emergency response, and senior meals. The board unanimously backed $1 million for the Major Roads Fund and $125,000 for coastal resiliency, along with $220,000 to cover winter storm costs and $75,000 to sustain the meals-on-wheels program, which costs roughly $75,000 annually and will eventually need to rely on Madison Foundation fundraising as the Marcus Fund endowment depletes. In a separate vote, the board unanimously approved a collective bargaining agreement with civilian dispatchers effective July 1, 2026, authorizing First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons to execute all related documents.
The board tabled action on a June 22 public hearing on the proposed Affordable Housing Trust Fund Ordinance after Selectman Wilson said his prior concerns about the language remained unaddressed.
