CT MADISON — The Tree Advisory Committee, led by Chair Al Gross, agreed to present a progress report to the Board of Selectmen on September 21, outlining education programs, a draft tree care policy, and plans for greater involvement in town development decisions. The committee discussed educational initiatives including an October 24 tree walk at Bauer Park and coordination with the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station on the invasive Ailanthus species and spotted lantern fly. In response to a Britton Lane sidewalk project requiring removal of a notable white oak estimated to be over 185 years old, member Francis Brady proposed replacement trees of equivalent size to maintain the town's canopy.
