Tree Advisory Committee · Meeting of June 17, 2026
CT MADISON — Tree Advisory Committee began planning for bicentennial tree donation and budget expansion. Chair Samantha Pullaro and members convened June 17 to discuss Madison Lodge No. 87's $1,000 project to plant a White Oak tree commemorating Madison's bicentennial and the nation's 250th anniversary, with five potential sites under evaluation including Church Green, Ball Fields, MLCT property, Bauer Park, and Hammonasset Beach State Park. Member Al Gross also proposed increasing the town tree care budget to approximately $104,000 annually, a $34,000 increase from the current $70,000, to align with the national Tree City USA requirement of $2 per capita, with a finalized proposal due to the Board of Selectmen in September.
