Tree Advisory Committee Votes to Modify Notable Tree Nomination Form, Schedules Public Walks

Tree Advisory Committee voted to refine its Notable Tree Nomination Form and scheduled public education programs.

Tree Advisory Committee · Meeting of September 16, 2026

CT MADISON — Tree Advisory Committee voted to refine its Notable Tree Nomination Form and scheduled public education programs. The 4-1 vote removed the phrase "a protective native species buffer" from the form, with Chair Al Gross, Vice Chair David Clark, and members Francis Brady and Stephen Lowrey voting to remove it and member Terry VandenDolder opposed. The revised form will inform the committee's tree inventory goals and potential GIS mapping efforts.

The committee also confirmed a public tree walk for October 24 at Bauer Park led by Bob Kuchta and is preparing six tree-protection recommendations for town planning regulation updates scheduled for September 24 and October 1.
