CT MADISON — The Zoning Board of Appeals approved two residential construction variances unanimously and rejected a carport addition in a 3-2 split. The board voted to allow Nick Anderson and Riley Kokoruda to rebuild an accessory dwelling at 7 Pent Road on the same footprint with height modifications for building code compliance, and approved John A. Pescatore and Anne Martin's application to demolish and rebuild a single-family home at 21 Parker Avenue with a three-bedroom design elevated for FEMA flood compliance.
The board rejected Cathy Y. Szeto's request for a carport at 51 Taylor Avenue, with Chair Richard Gilbert and Vice Chair Dylan Stella opposing on grounds that the hardship was weak and the structure clashed with the neighborhood.
