CT MADISON — Zoning Board of Appeals approved a coastal variance for Hartford Avenue. The board voted unanimously to allow a 43.5-foot setback to a critical coastal resource at 97 Hartford Avenue, down from the required 50 feet, citing the undersized lot and physical constraints. The applicants, Alan Julius Swirski and Sandra Green Swirski, presented plans to demolish the property's non-conforming 1895 main house while retaining a 2012 addition and constructing a new structure to reduce overall coverage by 170 square feet.
Chair Richard Gilbert was reelected, and Dylan Stella was elected Vice Chair.
